im looking for some load data for Lee 356-125-2R cast from WW. maybe something close to a standard ball round. i have tightgroup, red dot, and blue dot on hand and would like to use what i have.

I have found Red Dot works well with this boolit in 9mm at 4.3gr with OAL of 1.150. Chrono is broke so can't tell you the velocity. You should probably work up to it, though. Can't speak to the other 2.

I use to load 8 to 8.4 grains of Bluedot with Speer's 125 JSP, so that should be safe with any 125 grain cast boolit, if you want to try the Bluedot you have on hand.

I sometimes use 3.9 grs of Titegroup with the 125gr cast lead usaually seated at 1.125 OAL. I prefer AA #5. Love Tiyegroup though in my 200gr cast in my .45's.

While I'm sure Blue Dot would work, it's generally-accepted that cast boolits work better with relatively fast-burning powders, especially for something like ball-load duplication in an auto-pistol round.

My mentor loaded Red Dot for these loads, and taught me to do the same, but it's been 25 years since I did any with Red Dot... TiteGroup should work as well or better since it's clean-burning and designed for accuracy and consistent charge weight.

Personally, I use W231, but you didn't list that as one of your options.

Blue Dot works fine for me with 9mm and cast. Friend also uses BD with a 357Sig and cast, which technically is a 9mm also.

I use Red Dot in 9mm when I want accuracy and don't care about getting top performance. I *think* it's about 4.0 grains with 125's but I could be wrong (and there's not a lot of margin for error) so you better look it up.

Putteral, how many grains of Titegroup are you using in your 200gr 45 boolits?

I just cast my first boolits last night BTW!

I used 4.2gr of Red Dot this weekend over a 120gr Lyman 356402 mold in a Taurus 99. Cycled well and kept the groups within 2" at 15 yards. Thanks to Snaggdit for the idea to use Red Dot in 9mm Luger.

I've been using that 8 grain load of Bluedot with the Lee 125 2r boolit.
This load will get you into low end 357 performance, depending on your barrel length. A 4 inch barrel will just make noise but a 5 or 6 inch barrel will really pump some power!
