So I got myself into another problem. I got a MEC 600 today to replace the 650 I got last week. The wad guide spring fell out of the unit while I was disassembling and cleaning the unit. Does anyone know how this piece fits into the unit and where it goes? I'd assume it goes near the wad guide.

It fits between the wad guide bracket and the column. All it does is provide tension on the bracket so it pretty much stays where you put it. OR call MEC, I understand they're quite helpful. http://www.mecreloaders.com/Order/600JrMark5PartsList.asp

A few years ago I bought a used MEC 650. It did not work well and I live only about 35 miles from the factory so on a vacation day I went there to see what they could do. The service guy came out to my car and carried in my loader. He disassembled it , cleaned it, replaced a couple of worn parts, and reassembled it for me. After adjusting it he loaded a few rounds to make sure all was well. He then carried it back out to my car and thanked me for stopping by. All that for no charge. As far as I am concerned there is no other brand of shotgun loaders in the world. If only every company had customer service like that.
