I use reformed 8x50R Label brass.
Works fine except it's really thin at the neck.
Anyone compare the reformed Label brass and the reformed 348 brass?????

When you form the cases from .348 brass the original neck is discarded and the new neck is formed from the thicker brass of the case.

When you full lenght resize the 8X50 R after you fire form it once, Why it may split when you fire it again or burn out the neck, I have made over 400 rds. of it and only had this burn out 3 cases and split 2 necks after being fired over 1,000 times.I also anneal where the new neck will be.

I don't have that much of a problem with splits.
Maybe one out of 100 after 4 or 5 reloadings.
I'm neck sizing with a 44mag die.
I anneal when I get a split.
Should I anneal more offten????

To jhrosier,
Is the bullet on the right an original????
I'm looking for a mould that will cast a bullet just like that. 432di, 300gr, flat base. Gas check would be ok too.
Any idea what it would be?????

Yes & no, I think that it is a Remington. I don't have it handy but could check if it is important to you.

I believe that the original military load used a plain based heeled boolit, similar to a modern .22LR boolit.

The Lee 310gr boolit has worked out well in every way, both accuracy and feeding through the magazine. I can't see any advantage to using anything else.

Thanks Jack.
I've tried the Lee 310. Works OK. In my rifle, it has a problem when using it through the magazine. It sometimes hangs up feeding.
I'm now using the Lyman 300gr. It also hangs up sometimes.
I've tried some Seaco #433, and they seem to feed well.
I'd get a Seaco #433, but I'd rather have it plain base.

Feeding into the mag or out?
I have heard one fellow say that the Lee boolit would sometimes hang up when loading the mag because of the blunt nose. He did just a little polishing on the inside of the elevator and fixed it right up.
My gun has a pretty smooth surface there and has not had that problem.
There is also a small radius on the front edge of the elevator that might cause a problem if it is too rough.
If you look again at the photo in my previous post, you will notice that the original rimfire cartridge has a much more rounded rim than the centerfire replacements.
If the hangup is there, a tiny bit more length on the cartridge or perhaps a tiny radius on the rim of the case might make a big difference.

I am having CBE make a cherry up for the 41 swiss, It has a nose just like the org. bullet,Then its going to have one wide deep grease groove, bore ride befor the ojive, The same lenght and the same wt. 330 Grs. I have lathe turn some bullets and I set 3 national records and 7- 1 st. place at the Miltary Cast Bullet Match in June this year, Its going to cast at .436- .437, But it will not hurt to size it down to .431 and I will go down to .428 also. Hang on, Joe

Any idea on how much this mould will be????
Is it plain base????
Is it possible to post a picture????

The Seaco #433 works good in my rifle.
Anyone have one for sale????

I'm using a Lyman 429650. It also hangs up feeding from the tube mag sometimes.
All three bullets shoot well.

348 brass and standard 250-300 gr .429 bullets work fine. I even used the swaged speer .429s with no issues at all.

That is about enough! Quit with the Vetterli stuff would you. I had put this on the back burner last fall.
GS next weekend. I am going to take the "Carbine Comblain" bayonet and see if I can get enough $ from it to get into a nice Swiss 41.
