Yesterday morning I went to the range with my K31 to ready it for an upcoming military match. It's just unblievablely accurate with 10 grains of Unique and 311466 but, was shooting 1-1.5" right at 100. I had made a sight adjusting tool from a shaft stop collar and proceeded to adjust the sight by first using the 3/16" allen wrench with the short leg up. No way! I reversed so the long leg was up and thought I may have to get a "cheater" to get that sight to move! Finally, I pushed it about .039" and tried it.
Raised my rear sight to 300 and it was shooting dead on at 100, so decided to see what it would do at our max range of 200. Set the sight on 500 and the first shot was a 10 at 1 o'clock. To say I was happy would be an understatement! I shot 8 more( that's about the time my 62 years old Mark 3 eyeballs gave out) and three were 8's, but I managed a score of 81 out of a possible 90.
Some observations:
1) The K31 just wants to please,
2) 10 grains of Unique+311466 does quite well at 200 yards,
3) The front sight is very tight, never fear it will slip off!
4) I really like this K31!!
The match is a couple of weeks away so, I may test some other powders or just stick with what is working for now.

JDL,

You have a winner!

I don't shoot in matches, but my two K-31s are a hoot, nonetheless. Ten grains of Unique works for me, too.

I'm aware of the home-made front sight tool, but haven't got round to it, yet.
