I have a chance to buy said gun. Probably at a price that's a little high, but I like the gun and the caliber and it's the model with 2 triggers.13" or 13.5" is common in European 9.3's but I can't find specific info on the Valmet twist. I know a couple guys here have one, so hopefully someone can help. I really don't want one as fast as 12" since this will be a cast only proposition. Thanks for any help. Ron.

Why not check the twist your-self? It is fairly easy with a cleaning rod, bore brush, and a patch.

Hi Larry. The gunshop's about 100 mi. from me and the owner has a little attitude. I've asked him for the twist over the phone. I know the gun's in NRA Excellent condition, but that's all the info I can get. Ron.

There's a vendor on shotgunworld.com that sells barrels and parts for the Valmet/Tikka guns.

I was in contact with a friendlier sort at the gunshop and he was kind enough to measure the twist for me. Not good news. 1 in 9.5" twist. Those Europeans sure do like to give their bullets a good spin. Unfortuately I'm back at the drawingboard. Probably a 375 H&H in a 26" Krieger barrel with a 14-15" twist and .005" grooves. Would have loved to own a double though. Thanks. Ron.D
