Hey folks,
I have a nice American Arms .44 mag that just busted it's hand spring.

I gather that the hand and spring are replaced as a unit because it's difficult to get that little leaf spring to stay put!

My question - Does the hand assy for the Uberti Buckhorn .44 mag fit the American Arms Uberti .44??
Is it the same as in any Uberti SAA, or is the .44 mag different?

I can find parts for the Buckhorn, but not the American Arms.

I emailed VTI gunparts, and got no reply so I'm wondering if any of y'all have ever had the same problem.

lastly, how about converting this fine gun to a plunger-and-coil-spring type hand assembly?
Maybe that's how I should go and not worry about little leaf springs any more?

Jim Stroh (ALPHA PRECISION) converts colt clones to use a spring-and-plunger for the hand spring. A couple of the Cowboy Action gunsmiths do also. I have RUGERS and this is their factory set up.
