I have lubed and sized some SWC for .38 special at .358 - no leading up and down the load chart. Now I know this is probably a nobrainer, but if the SWC don't lead my barrel, neither will my bullets of other designs but with same size and alloy... right? The SWC weigh 142gr and the 2 other designs weigh 120 gr....

Not necessarily. Some designs can offer more leading than others. I find some BB designs lead more than a PB. The only way to know is shoot them.

+1 for Fredj228.

The only way you're going to be able to tell is buy shooting them in the gun your developing them for. Anything less, well, is just guessing...

The guys have it right. Each gun is a law unto itself, so is each mould. They all cast different sizes and come out of the sizer at different sizes, even among the same batch, if you have the tooling to measure it. Add in different design characteristics and all the things 5R5 mentioned and....well, like the man said- shoot 'em and see.
