1 1/3 cup canola oil
1 pkg ranch dressing (dry)
1 pkg fiesta ranch dressing (dry)
1-3 T cracked red pepper depending on taste
Mix all above together
Put 1/2 box of saltine crackers in a large bowl, (I used a large zipper bag), pour 1/2 of mixture over them. Add rest of crackers and pour rest of mixture over them.
Seal bag or bowl and turn over every 15 minutes for 2 hours or until oil is absobed. Store in bags or can also freeze.
of course I can't leave well enogh alone. i used some taco spice and south western seasoning to change it up a bit. I got this from my shift buddy at work. He went to Canada fishing a while back and the folks they stayed with made up a bunch of these.
THEY ARE NOT SOGGY. The price of snack crackers is crazy. These are pretty quick and easy to make. Just don't let set much more than the 15 minutes.
Also I used salt free saltines as his batch was plenty salty.
A good cheap snack, some what healthy. Better than a candy bar.
