H&R mod 088

I have an H&R model 088 12 gauge break open single shot. I know some of the break open single shots can switch barrels to a rifle barrel.

does anyone know if this model can switch barrels to a rifle barrel? Or a smaller gauge shotgun barrel?

I know most anything "can be" done, but i'm talking about a reasonable at home swap, not a gunsmith conversion custom....it simply wouldn't be worth it.

It HAS to be an SB-2 frame and will be marked as such on the side of the receiver, under the name.

Only the frames originally built and sold as rifle frames are good for rifle barrels. The shotgun frames would be good for other shotgun barrel to be added. NEF/H&R can supply you with additional barrels and fit them to your frame.

The 088 is not made to take any rifle barrels, only other shotgun barrels. The break-open rifles can be fitted with other rifle barrels. On the H&R site has the price and procedure for fitting barrels.

i got this about 20 years ago, i don't think it's had 100 rds fired in it. it just wasn't what i want. Too bad i didn't realize that BEFORE i got it.

my kids are now big enough to start shooting, i was hoping to swap barrels to something small enough to be usefull for them.
