I'm in need of some 7.5 Swiss brass. Graf and Sons has Norma and PRVI. I know the Norma is top quality, but it is very pricey too. While a long way from being cheap the PRVI is less than half the Norma price. Any experiences out there + or - would be helpful.

I bought some 6.5X55 Privi ammo. The flash holes are real small. The decapper pin barely goes through. When I was done depriming, I drilled out the holes the same size as US brass. I've reloaded them many times.

used them for 380 brass. Works well and shines nice but for a precision rifle like a 7.5 I'd spend the extra for a single box of norma and reload it.

I had the same experience with Privi 6.5x55 small flash holes. Other Privi brass has done fine for me. I use it in 7.5, 303,8x56r, 8x57, and others. Comes annealed from the factory. good stuff.

I used .30 cal PRVI 168 gr. bullets. This was a while back. They shoot well. They are not as good as Sierra's, but they were half the price.

The PRVI brass works just fine. As with most rifle brass, I debur the flash hole, so it deburs and uniforms the hole at the same time. I do not recall an issue with primer hole diameter.

I now neck size only with the Redding neck die.

My 6.5 and 7.5 Privi brass is fine. The flash hole thing was a "sort of" for me. I anealed my 6.5 brass and it's been shot at least 8 times with no signs of failure, full house jacketed loads.

DITTO SUNDOGS POST,

No problem with small primer pockets.

i have loaded and shot this brass 13 times now,i neck size with redding dies...lee did not work

I ordered from graff also.

great stuff !

i have also used 284 new winchester brass, sized, trimmed and shot 5 times now.
i believe its a viable way to do it.accuracy is fine also.

Yes, I uniform primer pockets, too, but I do not recall that being an issue either.

Before you drill out the flash holes to .080 (standard american flash hole size) try opening them up just enough to clear your decapping pin. The .062 flash hole in PPC brass (220 Russian) is one of the secrets to it's success in Benchrest. BTW: Privi makes pretty good brass!

I've had very good luck with PRVI brass from Graf's in both 6.5x52 and 7.62x54R. I FL size the 54R as I have several that use it. Even those that I set aside for full load still has lasted between 8 and 10 loadings before it has become unserviceable. I don't even count how many times I've loaded for the more mild cast loads.

So far I haven't had any problems with the flash holes of what I've bought.

I bought 2 boxes of the match 7.62x51mm prvi stuff at a gunshow. Decent enough accuracy for factory 168gr boattails.

Reloaded it 5 times so far, with 42.5gr h4895, cci primers, and hornady 165gr core-lok sp pb bullets. Great stuff. Sub-moa groups at 100 meters consistently.

I'm looking in the for sale/wanted section for some once fired prvi partizan .308 at the moment.

I still haven't had my email answered from graf's about if there is a difference between the "match" and regular brass that they have for sale on their website.

If there isn't a difference, I'll probably order some brand new stuff when next payday hits. If there is a difference, I'll probably start working up a new load with once fired Lake city brass.

Andy.

Yep, got some PRVI 7.62x54 awhile back, very satisfied with it, would not hesitate for other calibers..

My Nayb bought some for his 6.5x55 and said it was the single worse brass he had ever worked with in 50 years of reloading.

Last time I looked, it wasn't cheap. I found 100 brass cases of Winchester primed 7.62x54R for $40.00 at a gun show.

I have done a lot of decent match work with Graf brass in 7.5 Swiss. I occasionally lose
some to neck cracks after many loads, too.

Also - I was full length sizing my brass for the 7.5 due to occasional failure to fully
chamber. THe chambering issue was found to be due to the extremely small to non-
existent throat in the Swiss K31. I never went back to "neck sizing" with my FL
die, and started to lose brass to head separation. Once I did the normal adjustment
of the FL die to size without pushing the shoulder back, and verifying that this will
chamber in any of my K31s, I have no more losses due to head sep, strickly my fault,
I have known this for decades, just had dropped it with the K31 due to the failure to
fully close issues that I had at the start of loading for these rifles.

Accurate rifle (k31), the Graf (PRVI) brass is pretty good stuff. The PRVI primer pockets seem
to be right at minimum depth, so need to be kept clean in my experience to avoid high
primers. This seems to be true of several calibers of PRVI for me. I haven't measured, but
I'd bet that std US brass has ~.005 deeper primer pockets. Still, good brass.

I have used it and the stuff they made for Grafs in 7.5 MAS, 7.5 Swiss, and several other calibers and have had no problems. Reloaded it at least 7 times with cast loads and have had no case loss yet,

I always use Lyman's flash-hole deburring and primer pocket uniforming tools on all new and once-fired Privi-Partizan brass prior to loading.
It is a one-time operation.
Calibers used:
.223 Rem, 8x57, 7x57, 7.62x54R, .308, .30-06

Do you know country of origin for the Winchester brass?
Thanks.

Does anyone know of another source for Prvi Partizan Brass other than Grafts?

(How do you pronounce PRVI anyway?)

I found that it worked best if I annealed it to start with as it was a little hard, especially for light loads.

I have heard it but can't seem to figure what to type to get it across. It means by the way first or formost. It's like my gramps would say when I botched German, Umlauts! and that isn't spelled right either but it's been 40 years now.

This recipe is used with Priv brass that I only: pocket ream, mouth chamfer and put a neck tension of 0.002 at 1000yds with my K31:
Sierra Match King 190gr 0.470BC Jacket Privi Brass CCI Br2 primer IMR 4350 45gr 2.920 COL 2085fps
I have no complaints with the brass
