Ok, so what about my .223? I would like to experiment with pp in it as well. I think the bore diameter is .219 (would someone please correct me if that's not right). Should I have Buckshot make me a push-through sizer that's .220 or one that's .008 under throat diameter (the .008 being to accomodate for the .002 thick patch wrapped twice around)?

Slug your bore. Size to .001/.0015 over BORE diameter. Patch, lube and size to .001+ over groove diameter. BTW, good luck patching those tiny little bullets. My old hands wont tolerate anything under 30 cal any more. Getting old sucks, but it sure beats the alternative!

Thanks. My concern is that the patched boolit will be around .228. Then sizing down to .225 will size the lead down below bore diameter. I don't know if that happens or not, but apparently not since I haven't seen too much concern over it (reading through the archives).

You might try a thinner paper. The rifling in a 22cal is kind of shallow. If you can fine some tracing paper, or try cigarette rolling paper that might work for you.

What thickness is that stuff? .0015? I can't imagine anything under that.

Never have miked it, I have on occasion used dress patterns when I needed real thin paper. I patched some .308 to .313 with one of my wife's pattern on jacketed bullets once. Worked fine .
