Just stopped by my local mom and pop shop, he had cast ingots for sale at a buck a pound. Said they came from a collection he purchased. I think he said he had roughly 700 of them. He would ship but is not internet savvy if anybody is interested. I would imagine flat rate box rates would apply. I can pick them up and ship them if anybody is interested, if not no worries. I can say it was the first time I have ever walked into a gun store and scene big ammo boxes filled with ingots.

Yup, just recently seen a local store seeing some ingots for about $4 a pound collecting dust. Occasionally see a few ingots at gun shows now, used to never see them. Think non-CB people are starting to see that casting is starting to go a little more mainstream and factory loads every visit to the range are a luxury few will be able to afford.

$1/lb shipped is a decent price for lead ingots.

$1/lb + shipping is a little high, IMO.

If they were Linotype ingots i would snatch them up. You didn't mention what kind of alloy it is?

How about going to your local recycler and getting Linotype - sheet lead or cable sheath lead for 50 cents a pound? Don't see much WW's there though.
About 3 months ago, got a 213 lbs of lino for a friend. And last week made up 576 lbs of various alloys from several trips to one recycler

You should check the price of lead. It's gone up 35 cents this summer. Five or seven cents today.

Shouldn't this be posted in the swapping & selling section?

You can still get ingots on fleabaY for under $1/pound, including shipping. This is as of 1 minute ago.

Careful about the sheet goods. I bought some sheet that turned out to be Cadmium.

Yeah, $1/# for unknown alloy is a bit rich for my blood. WW can still be had for 20c-25c/#. You can buy pure lead from Rotometals for less then $1.5 delivered. I don;t trust the E-bay crowd to sell me lead when I could be buying zinc for all I know. You could certainly buy a # o r 2 & melt it down & cast a few bullets to see how it runs first. GO in and offer him 50c/# for the lot.
