M1 Carbine Brass Deflector?

Does anyone have a picture of a brass deflector attached to an M1 Carbine? I found one for sale but I can't figure out from the picture how it works.

First one of those I've seen too. My guess would be that the wire "legs" go on either side of the rear sight.

I have had Carbines that would whack me in the head with brass. A trip to a gunsmith and some swapping and testing of extractors/ejectors solved the problem.

Thanks, Justwondering. I recently bought a box of carbine tools and parts that included one of these and had no idea what it was. Now if somebody can show us how to attach it.
