I've been working with the Ranch dog 265 gr. @ .432. Works well in my rfle with
AA#9. As you Probably know you need a rather short Boolit to fit in the clip. Also most of them have a large throat and the larger dia bullets seem to work better for me.

on the 265 RD. I also found that even on new magazines I had to wind the spring up a bunch to get them to feed anything. Good to go now.
I use Accurate#9 and H110, and a lot of it.

I had 2 of them. One in 44 magnum, and one in 22 magnum. The rifles functioned reliably, and I really liked the magazine, however the accuracy was terrible with both of them. I tried a lot of different ammo with no success, including hand loads for the 44. In the end I got rid of both of them. If a rifle does not shoot accurately then I have no use for it, regardless of functionality. Tom.

I have the misfortune of having bought the Deerfield auto-loader and have a problem with the first shot being out of the group and then OK. I tried to put a shim under the barrel out at the end so as to cinch the barrel down and the cheap pot metal barrel band broke. I bought another cheap potmetal one as that's all I could get. Maybe one of these days, I'll get an urge to try it out again. Was a disappointment though.

I don't have much experience with heavy-duty cast loads with my 96/44, but it does like Speer 240gr JHC's and a stiff charge of 296--smaller than 1" groups @ 25yds. I have tried some creampuff loads with Lyman 429421's and the like, in the 900 fps range, it is a tackdriver with these. It also handles the Lee 200gr RFP very well, again at lower velocities.
