For factory made moulds I prefer RCBS
For moulds made with more attention to detail, I prefer Old West Bullet Moulds out of Fruita Co, and the inhouse moulds offered by Buffalo Arms, and for the next step up Brooks and Kal Graf moulds are both good.

Take a look at what wins, Paul Jones, Steve Brooks, BACO Paper Patch, That pretty much covers it.

Don't forget the Hoch nose pours. Dave Farmer at Colorado Shooters Supply. 45-90, heavy as you can make it and fast as you can get it moving out the spout. At least a 550 grain boolit then you'll have something for 1000 yards.

Dave Farmer also makes some great base pour molds. I gave him the specs and the mold drops just that. Perfect every time

I have several moulds from custom makers. Far and away Paul Jones makes the best I have ever seen. The bullet out of his moulds look like they are chrome plated. There are no tool marks and the bullets are perfect in every way. Paul Jones gets my vote.

I only have one custom mold. Steve Brookes Creedmore. After dealing with Steve, casting with the mold and shooting the boolits, I will be ordering another one from him just as soon as I can get the money together. The mold cast the bottom two driving bands at .459, and the remaining bands are all .449, I seat about .150 inside the case and can get 75 grains of FFg in there without compression. In a 45/90 you would probably get close to 100 grains. I have shot it to 1000 yards a few times now.

it's hard to beat Steve Brooks moulds for round and right to specs. He has made both BP and Boltgun moulds for me over the last 5 years, and all were good as gold. He also competes in BP matches, so he has field experience and talks with shooters at matches to see what is working.

Since I assumed he is familiar with how a 'Money' bullet's nose is shaped (and did not make sure he knew) the mould he sent me is not the shape I wanted.
He is unwilling to make any adjustment...

It is a flat based, paper patch bullet; .450" diameter; 1.450" length; with Brook's elliptical nose (sharper point than the 'Money', and shorter ogive).
Weight is about 540(+) grains.
