My bullets came from Hi Tech today. They are .308 FMJBT (pulled). I find about half of them have pull marks. I bought the Boolits for iron sight old military fun match at our range. We shoot shilouetts (Man size I believe). I have yet to go to my first match with this course of fire.

I am thinking that these pulled boolits will shoot as good as I can hold an old ironsighted military rifle. Am I wrong?

They should work fine. I have used them and their little brothers pulled from 5.56mil ammo. They can be quite accurate if your rifle likes them. Out of my .308 and -06 they cannot approach the accuracy levels of Sierras, but they are capable of MOA at long ranges if the rifle is. Ignore the pull marks unless the bullet is actually deformed.

I will add my .02 here. One of my shooting bud's bought a few K of the FMJ's from Pat's reloading, the jackets are mild steel rather than copper. So I would use caution of what you run them through.
I believe he gave right around .05 a piece for them, how much were they at HT?

Jeff:

$55.00/K. They are pulled .308 bullets. Seem to be gilding metal jackets.

I used to buy the pulled bullets when ever I found them , cleaned them up and shot a bunch of 'em . A couple years ago Graf & Sons had a sale on .308 150 gr FMJBT for about six cents each . I bought a goodly stash of them and still use them often .
When ever I find the military 173 gr bullest for less than ten cents each , I buy some of those too .

I read years ago in the AR from NRA that you could invert the 30 cal ball and shoot them base first for an expanding bullet. I tried it and they were realy explosive that way with the big flat nose hollow point. The crimp canelure was just right for 30/30 lever guns with the 150gn bullets.

Bullshop--

That's a fine idea. Gotta try that one on jackrabbits with the 30-30!

Back in 1972 I had my first 1891 Argentine Cavalry Carbine. My best friend bought me a whole coffee can full of Argentine pulled bullets..FMJ's. I shot them every which way I could....which included backwards. Just never though about mentioning it here.
