Anyone using KIK in 38-55 or 45-60? Shot a match this weekend using 40 grains of Goex FFg in my Win Mod 94 in 38-55 and cleaned the chickens and pigs. Scored 32 out of 40. I didn't do as well with Swiss 1.5 in the same shoot, but then I haven't checked the loads on paper. Either the Goex was a lot better or I was just getting in the groove by the second match.

KIK is a little less expensive than Goex so I'm thinking of it as an option.

At 500 yards, KIK shoots about four feet higher than Goex CTG in my .38-55, and I could never get groups as small as with the Goex.

For some reason unknown to me, I've gotten better accuracy results with Goex than with Swiss or Shutzen in the 38/55. The Goex fouled less than the German powders too.

I have tried FFG KIks in my 38-55 with about the same accuracy as I get with GOEX FFFG. The kiks load was the same weight (42 gr) but shot the boolit at higher velocity by about 100 fps. However I get better accuracy with FFG GOEX than with either FFFG load.

Buy the American Powder; we need to support our few remaining companies. It seems that we have some forum members who have won more than one Championship using GOEX. There is talk that Hodgdon is looking to improve the Goex line with a better charcoal. I hope that it doesn't do more harm than good. I think it was John Boy who did a test with the different powders and KIK gave faster FPS across the board by around 100fps as Nick has posted

The one time I tried KIK in my 45-70 Browning, I noticed considerably more fouling and did not go any farther with it.
