..............My favorite load in my Springfield with the 311284 is 23.0 grs H4198 with a dacron wad. In fact I like that load with any slug of 180grs or more.

I had good luck with the PB Lyman 130gr 311410 using 6.0grs of Red Dot. It's the only 30 cal PB I have, sorry :-)

+1 on Buckshot's R Dot load for #311241, but also try 6 - 7grs. B'eye; 6 - 7grs. Clays (original); 7 - 9grs. Unique; and 9 - 10grs. B Dot.

testhop: I use 13.5 gr red dot in my 1903 with 311291,and lees 312-160 TL.the 311291 cronies at 1680 and gives tight groups.if the heat goes down I want to take some pic but I cant take humid 99 degree heat at my age.also used lees 312-160 TL same grouping.

I use the LEE C309-180-R with 20 grains of 2400. It clocks in at just under 1700 fps. It shoots as good as HXP ball at 200.

What's this.....no 2500 fps loads with those two good cast bullets with bore riding noses? According to a recent post on another thread none of us must know much about loading cast bullets if we can't shoot'em that fast;-)

However back down here on Earth that 311241 just screams for the old "Guard" load of 6.5 gr of Bullseye for about 1150 fps and what should be an excellent, accurate and fun load. No wads or fillers needed BTW.

Lee's C309-160-1R will shoot 5/8" groups at 50 yards in my 03-A3 using JPW lube and 16 gr of 2400. My Springfield dosent group Red Dot 13 gr loads as well.

Ok I can't resist! I'll chime in with the hottest load yet on this thread. A C312-185 (sized to .311 to fit a .309 bore) backed with 25 gr of IMR4189 hits a whopping average of 2050 fps in my A3 and hold MOA at 100yrd. :Fire: Oh waite you said 2500 fsp.... Never mind
