Does anyone have a cast boolit load info for a Cetme with Lee .309 Gaschecked 155 gr. boolit?I have Unique and h-335 and Imr 4895.Iwould really like to save the Unique for my 41 mag so I need one for h-335 or IMR 4895 if possible. Thanks Mike

Suggest you read BruceB's "sticky" at the top of this forum. It's the one about loading for the M1A. Suggest, since the CETME is delayed roller function instead of a gas gun, that you give thought to a heavier bullet as "recoil impulse" will be essential for functioning of the CETME. 311299 with 4895 works well in the M1A and the G3 (refined CETME). To get reliable functioning you may have to drive the 155 gr bullet too fast tfor accuracy. Just some suggestions.

What i did with the one i had was loaded 170 gain lymans with 2400. Start at about 19 grain and go up slowly until the action works.

milsurp mike,

20+ yrs ago i had an hk-91 .308 that functioned beautifully with a 200gr cast (lyman 311334) and 29.0gr of rx-7. "minute-of-milk-jug" accuracy, no leading and the cases dropped within 4 feet.

hope this helps,

Got a CETME for my birthday last summer. I shot a mag of NATO spec ammo through it, hung it up, then got busy........... just got around to re-visiting it.....

I did a search and found this thread, thought I'd add an update. I have an old 311466 Loverin mold, drops at about 160 gr. in water dropped WW, Hornady checks, Lyman 50/50 so I thought I'd give it a try.

At Lloyd Smale's suggestion, I started at 19 gr. of 2400, worked up in 1/2 increments, and got decent cycling at 22.0. It throws the brass about 5 to 6 feet, and scars them very little, unlike the NATO stuff. I don't have a crony so I can't comment there, but have no bore fouling, and accuracy wasn't toooooo bad for leaning against a fence post in the rain and wind. ( three into about 3" at 50 yds)

Gonna load some more for further testing in better conditions, and a solid bench. May not be my answer, but at least I'm started.....
