GI Brass says WC844 can be loaded with H335 data. How much actual difference is there betweeen the two, or are they the same powder, one if military and the other in civilian dress?

Charger,

My last jug of 844, that I'm still working on, is pretty dang close to H335, but like any different lot of powder, you should work your loads up accordinly. I think my 844 is a tad faster. It's doggone good powder and I really like it. I like the surplus 4895 also. If you can pick it up for a fair price, by all means get it.

This past weekend I shot .5" group (100 yd, 10 rounds) from my AR 15 223 using WC844, Hornady 55 JSP and mixed GI cases. I plan on buying another 8 lb at the gun show this weekend. Seemed close enough to H335 to me (which I also use) but work your load up for your guns like with any powder.

Same powder, different lots. If none at the gun show, get the BLC2 equivalent which is WC846. Some lots of this are faster than WC844, and vice versa. AA223/ AA223C fit in the same category. Buy the cheapest. ... felix
