I am perturbed. I just cast a couple sample boolits from my NEI .308 135gr six cav boolit mold. They are supposed to be 135Gr but when I weight them they are 165gr!
Now I understand that pure lead is heavier than alloyed lead, and these boolits are on the softer side, but a 30gr difference? Seems extreme to me.

They had to send you the wrong mold. That is 10X the expected deviation from changing alloy.
A .30 cal bullet would have to be in the area of .150 longer to gain 30 grains.

Do your self a favor send it back and get your money back. Since Walts passing their quality has gone down the tubes. had one mold I sent back 3 times they never did get it right, wound up selling it. Others that I have were made by Walt I still have and use.

Sadly I bought this one off an ebay seller. Come to think of it - he had quite a few Nei molds - maybe the rejects? Crawling through NEI dumpster out back??
Otherwise, the shape is nice - and fires well. Just took me by surprise when I weighed them, but I've adjusted my load accordingly.

well load them up as 165gr's. as long as they are ALL close to that weight....go for it. Maybe relist it ebay and blow it out.

NEI seems to have a problem with bullet weights. I recently bought one that was supposed to be 195gr. It cast at 180gr. They told me it was the mix I was using. They said that they use linotype for getting the size and weight. Mine was more lead than linotype (Bhn 9-10). I thought that would make it heavier, not lighter.
However, I shot some and it was accurate enough, so I decided to keep it. I would think very hard about getting another NEI, though.

I have the LEE 2 cavity mould, using WW it casts one at 310gr and the other at 312gr, I do not size them at all, just lube with LEE's Liquid ALOX and shot them.

It's very unlikely you got a good first cast.

I ran off a few from a new Lee 458/340gr. The bullets drop @ 336gr cast from 50/50 ww/lead.
