Years ago I used a Lyman neck sizing die for loading 30-30 for my Marlin 336 rifle. Extraction was very difficult. I gave up after I broke two extractors in two differnet rifles. Have any of you had this kind of trouble neck sizing for a Marlin?

Could be a lot of things, hard extraction is often due to higher pressure loads than
normal. This can be caused many ways, long brass, excessive amount of powder,
oversized bullet, etc.

Too little info for a definitive answer this long after the fact.

What MtGun said, neck sizing will not cause hard extraction

I would full length size and see if extraction is difficult. Then start neck sizing as you reload. Keep a count. See if difficult extraction starts again.
