I can't find any Blue dot on this rock.
Is there a shortage ?????
Anyone have a replacement they use for Blue dot????
I'm using it in 30 carbine.
Tried ACC #9. Very dirty and messy.
Would like it to be a flake powder.

I like H110 and 2400 for my 30 carbine BH loads. Unique is good for plinkers. FB

Another similar burn rate powder would be IMR 4756 though I don't know if there is data for it.

Where on this rock are you located? I have more Blue Dot than I need, you don't list your location and I'm not smart enough to guess.

H-110 and or WW296 are designed for 30 carbine!
Try them you might find something good! H-110 was the only powder I used in my carbine.

4756 is a single base Herco, and can be a half grain faster in some situations. It is way faster than BlueDot in the loads intended for BlueDot. Example: 11.0-4756 in 44mag with 250K would be max without hitting the brass to hard. The load with about the same case intensity would be 14.5-BD. The velocity would be about 200 fps more with the latter for the same "pressure". I shot both loads for the same accuracy with a Mod 29. ... felix

I've been shooting 7.8 grs of Unique in my Underwood with 110 gr. jacketed bullets. Action works smartly and is accurate.

Primers, now Blue Dot.......even Lyman 4-cavity mould handles are back-ordered, per a poster at another site. Tarnation!
AA#7 is a fine powder with a similar burning rate.

2400 does well in the 30 carbine i use mag primers with it and it burns clean.

Darn near EVERYTHING is back ordered these days.
I just got my powder order from Pat that went into the hopper in Jan. NOT slamming
Pat, he is buried under orders and digging out. At least I got it!

Although 4227 ISN'T a flake powder, I use it in .30Carbine with very good results. It meters well and burns clean, gives good accuracy and works the action flawlessly.

You might try Hodgdons Lil' Gun. There is data on the Hodgdon website. Flake powder hade for .410 shotguns. RD

Felix, he probably meant to type 4759.
Lil' Gun is a great powder in the carbine.
Even though H110 & W296 are said to be the same powder, W296 shot much more accurately with full power jacketed loads in my carbines.

They are not the same, leadman. They could be, but that would be by chance. ... felix

I've tried 2400, Acc#9, Unique, H110. All are good and will work the action, but I've had the best accuracy with Blue dot.
Another thing I like about it is it's so clean.
Shooting only cast bullets through my worn out barrel.
