I'm contemplating buying a mold for my BFR chambered in .500 S&W. I've had some leading issues (BAD in the forcing cone) with Montana Bullet Works 375 gr. SWC's. The throats won't allow a .501" bullet to be pushed through so sizing isn't the issue. That L-O-N-G cylinder means the bullet has to jump approx. 1.3" to get to the rifling and THEN it's got to start spinning.....:)
This gun is very accurate with the 375 SWC (despite the leading) and also the 410 LFNGC and I'm thinking about getting an RCBS plain base 400 grain mold. Unique, Blue Dot and HS6 have all performed very well so far at the 1200 fps velocity that I plan to load at.
Do any of you folks have any experiences casting for the BFR?? Any recommendations??
