I finally got to pull the trigger a few times today. As I was not shooting boolits, I figgered I better put it here instead of cast boolits.
147 gr. NATOs, 150 gr. PSPs and 163 gr. APs all cut one ragged holes. Very encouraging. I should have no problem putting meat in the freezer this season.

Its a strong action and with the bullet weights you mention you definitely won't go hungry. You left out 220 grainers and they can be used to take bigger game if you want/need to. I've got 4 of them (3) in 06 and I use them for target; one by each of the manufacturers and another Winchester that I had bored out to 35 Whelan. Some folks have had them rechambered for stuff like the 505 Gibbs; all that needs is a set of wheels on it. If you by chance have to move the front sight for any reason get an SKS front sight tool for all of $7-$8 and file it to fit over the front sight. It works as such very well. LLS

I bought a sportserized 1917 last month and am begining to feel the need for more of them ..... and a .338-06 or .35 Whelen certainly would top the list on other calibers.
