I gave this to my youngest son three years ago, and he wanted my series 80 Colt Government in 9mm/38 super for awhile, so I said it is going to be yours anyhow just take it and give me the Taurus 450 for a carry gun. So I went down for a visit over the week-end and we traded (of course the Colt is worth more) but both will be his eventually anyhow. Thought you might like to see the revolver.
O yes it is 45 Colt and shoots great even with the 2" barrel and the ports.

Nice looking Taurus. I bet that a 45 Colt load is a handful in it though.

Not bad the grips are the best I have ever used on a revolver. Not near as bad as my sons S&W 357 Air-lite not even half as bad, S&W can keep them if I had to shoot full house 357's in one.

I certainly wouldn't feel under-gunned with that on my hip!

I have heard a lot of good things about those "Ribber" grips from Taurus.

Those Ribber Grips are da bomb! I don't think the 250 grain boolit going out ahead of 8.0 grains of Unique would be nearly as bad as service-level 357s (158 grain JHP W-W) from those J-frame Smiths. Root canals are more fun. The 357 bullet might (or might not) expand, but that 45 caliber slug sure won't SHRINK. One heck of a self-defense tool there.

This will be my carry gun, have a good holster and you can carry with my shirt out (how I wear them anyhow) with no budge, and he had three speed loaders for it. He will enjoy the Colt as he has wanted it ever since I have had it.

Nice carry gun, in one of the world's best calibers.

Several years ago I had the chance to work with a Taurus Tracker that was chambered for 41 Magnum. It was one of the most accurate revolvers that I have used and those ribbed grips were really great. I think that you made a great deal. Neil

I recall an article in "Guns" magazine a while back by Clint Smith where he loaded one of those with black powder and shot it at close range to the target. He caught the target on fire.
