I have used Unique for the folloing plinking loads
6.5 Carcano 8gr Unique 120gr cast
30-30 8gr Unique 150gr cast
.32ws 8gr Unique 170gr cast
.308 8gr. Unique 150gr cast

I also shoot .30 carbine, 45 Colt, 45 acp but have not reloaded for them yet.
Could I also load 8-10 gr of Unique/Salut under a 300gr cast for 45-70?

Can I substiute Salut for Unique, anybody try this.
I like to plink at 50 yards, before buying 53lbs of this stuff I want to make sure I can use it.

It seems to be close to Unique but go by weight and not a dipper type measure , for the 45-70 I would up the charge a little as it seems to work a little better for me in the big case , 18 to 20 gns ..

I'm getting 1 to 2 inch groups with it out of the Buffalo Classic with it at 50 yds with abount any weight boolit I want to use .

Hope it helps a little , I got 3 jugs from Hi-Tech and it sure is lasting for sure with the reduced loads . :)

That's a good suggestion about weight , not volume ! !

I"ve loaded the Rus Unique in 40 S&W, 45 ACP, 44 Spec, 44 Mag., 30-06 , etc. with no problems and great accuracy.

I use the standard load data that I'd normally use for standard Unique.
