What over all length do you use for the Lyman "Cowboy" bullet , the hundred and sixty grain version ?

Loads that approximate "service" velocities would be good too , I have 700X , bullseye and Universal clays for powder .

Can't help on that particular bullet, but 3.5 grains of Bullseye is my go to load for all my .38s. I use that for a 358311, 358439 (HP) and my RCBS 38-150.

If the boolit has a crimp groove,(358665)? then whatever is works out to if it will easily chamber.

I did find a length that would work in a .38 chamber and it was 1.410" . It has the crimp groove seated below the case mouth but it does fit into the guns I intend to use it in . Bullet diameter is .359" which most of the guns like and I settled on a charge of 4.6 grains of Universal Clays . It seems to group nice and feels like a "service" load , I'll have to get the chronograph out and check them though .
