I have an Ideal 308241. I have been looking at pictures in my Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook, from the seventies. What is the difference between the 308241 and the 311264. In my book they look identical. Diagrams would be great if any of you have some. Thanks.

jim. a lot of lyman/saeco's stuff was the same boolit but in a different diameter.
like the 311 and 314 series.
they seemed to understand that a bigger boolit diameter was desiired for some guns back in those days.
sadly, now it seems all guns bbls have shrunk down to 3 thou under nominal sizes at least according to their poured boolit diameters.

Five my book has the 311241 and 311264 in it. The 311241 in it is the same bullet as my 308241. The 311264 appears to be the same as well. The only thing I can see is that the 311264 might actually have a slightly flattened nose. By the way my old Ideal 308241 drops .3135 dia bullets with straight WW's.

my 241 and 264 show diffeerent driving bands the base being thicker on the 241 as is the middle bearing band.
casting might show up with some diameter differences tapering and whatnot.
