is the common theory amongst a lot of BPCR shooters....but recent testing using a 710 gr. elliptical bullet gave this result for 10 shots from 1000 yards off the sticks!

The inner plate is 20" diameter so that will give you some idea of the vertical dispersion of this bullet.

This was fired shooting a C. Sharps '74 Sharps using a Hoke rear tang and a Distant Thunder aperture front sight.

Rifle has 32" barrel and weighs in at 14# 15 oz.

I have two scopes and my grandson was watching me shoot this and as we both watched these big ole slugs slam into the plate.....I wouldn't have traded the grin on his 'kisser' for anything else!! He's 10 going on 11 and I think maybe I can entice him into the game of BPCR!!:drinks::):castmine:

Don't think I've posted this on this forum so here's a photo of my range. I have a pretty nice place to shoot which is only about 500 yards north of my homesite. Took this last Fall just before corn harvest. This taken from the 1000 yd line.

My hat is off to you sir; not for the shooting which is great but for having that grand son by your side. You are one lucky man. Took my two grand sons fishing in the Gulf and after 2 hours of catching fish they announced they were BORED. I could not believe it. Never knew what that word was when I was growing up. They wanted to watch TV and play video games. I told them that we had three things to pick from, FISH, EAT or SLeep and that was the entire selection. Just don't understand!
