Can you size an 8mm boolit down to .314? Will it adversely effect accuracy?:coffee:

Do a search for a recent thread by twotrees and a reply to that thread by Buckshot. Has pictures.........

Heres a link to that thread (http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=54536).

Do it in steps so that you don't stress your sizer too much, and fill the grooves with lube with the first step so you don't collapse the grooves while sizing..

On Sunday I sized some 400 grain water dropped WW .459 s down to .452 in one go. I re-ran a lubed boolit every 4 or 5 and they went through the star just fine.

I use Buckshots(kinda) method of lubing first, then sizing down. Keeps the lube grooves intact.

I've also done .459" to .452" sizing first in .459 w/ lube ten down to .452".

I size .458s down to .4515 regularly for paper patching. Also .312 down to .3015 and .304 for my 30s and 303. I lube with soapy water and use a push through die. Works fine.

I've gone from .456 down to .429in one pass before with lee sizers and a rock chucker press. Thats the most I've ever done. Only did that because I reaaaallly wanted to shoot the blackhawk I had just got and didn't have a .44 mould yet.
