I recently was given a few hundred cast 217.5 gr (RN), .4275 Bulllets.
I am seeking info as to possible loads for this .44 Mag bullet.
Available Pistol Powders (we all know how difficult it is to find powder today) are Unique, 2400, Red Dot, Universal, PB, TiteGroup.
I cannot find any info on a 215 or 220 Cast Bullet.
My own casts are 240 gr, so that reload info is not applicable.

If those boolits drop through the cylinders, pushed through the exit hole, with no stickyness whatsoever, they are too small. ... felix

felix is right, I tried some .427 boolits in my .44Maggie with dismal results. It was a waste of primers and powder.

What ever powder you are using for the 240gners will be almost certainly be fine with the 220`s. Depends really on what you want the boolit to do!
The slight difference in weight wont make much difference (depending on firearm,pistol/rifle?)
As Felix intimated, they may well be on the small side, diameter wise, for the application.
Mucho leading.
44 usually likes at least .430.

If .4275 "slip through" your bore, I am of the opinion that your bore is oversize. SAMMI for the .44 is .4275, the last time that I looked

When I slugged my 44 mag it was .430.

My 629 slugged @ .429. .4275 sounds more like 44-40 to me but not sure. As far as powder you have two of my favorite's Unique and 2400 check out Alliants web site for exact load info. FB

The boolits you describe might be better for a .44-40 type firearm.
I size my boolits to .431 for my Ruger Super Blackhawk. I have no leading and accuracy is excellent. The cast boolits are a tight fit in my cylinder throats. The fit will depend on the actual sizes of your throats and barrel. There is alot of folks in the know on this subject on this forum. I can honestly say that I have learned what little I know from the best right here.
I like 2400 and H110,296 for powder for the .44 magnum. I am not sure what charge weight for that weight bullet you would need off the top of my head.
I will check my Lyman manual this evening when I can lay my hands on it and see what I can come up with.

Lyman 49th edition states for a
225 gr jacketed HP bullet:
unique starting load 10.8 grs / Maximum load is 12 grs
2400 17.7 to start / max 22grs
210 gr jacketed Hp bullet:
10.6 grs of unique start / Max is 11.8
2400 21grs starting load / max is 23.3
210 gr lead gas checked boolit:
unique 10grs start / max 13.2grs
2400 19.8 start / max 22grs
Doc This might not be exactly what you need, but it sholuld give you a range in which to start your load development.

You are correct however for cast boolits they need sized to groove diameter or over, not bore diameter.
My NMSBH slugs at .4305 groove diameter. I did not check bore diameter dimension because for cast it is irrelevant
