Has anybody ever seated their gas checks by running the bullet backwards through a Lee sizing die? I am looking for a low cost way to seat my gas checks without buying a lubrasizer. I hate to buy the mould and gas checks and then find out I can not seat the gas checks properly. Any help would be appreciated.

I think most people run them through the sizing die the normal way to seat a gas check.

They'll seat nose first just fine.

Not always. I have a Lee mold and sizer and that particular bullet will not seat a gas check properly if seated nose first. Lee sent me a nose profile die to aid in seating, and that helped a lot, but for years I just seated the check base first, and it did well.

i HAVE A 225415 (55 grain) mold that the Lee sizer doesn't like. it seems to the check is caught as I feed it thru nose first. Then I get a cup like effect on the base. Since it IS a flat nose design I flip the bullets over and feed them thru BASE first, so far it is working fine.

I've never had any problem seating them nose first. If you're having problems on a particular type boolit, I'd think the shank would need to be enlarged, and/or different thickness checks.
