i have around 125lb of shot.
would this be good to cast strait into boolits, or mix it with ww, tin, etc...?

I thinks that it would depend on how hard or soft you need your allow and how hard or soft the shot is. Is it magnum or chilled? If you were heat treating your boolits you would only need a few ounces in your alloy.

I am sure that some would like to trade with you for the shot and I would be one of them if you were interested depending on what size it is and what you wanted in trade.

If dont want to trade then just add a little at a time until you get your desired hardness.

Good luck!!!

I've been using reclaimed #8 chilled shot for .38 and 45 acp with good results. If it were magnum shot I would just use it as a hardener though.

If it is reclaimed shot I may melt it down. If it is new shot I would trade it for lead, WW, or Lyno. Sell it outright. Shot is worth a lot more than alloy.---dale

Sell or trade the shot. It's worth over a buck a pound as shot, and I'm getting ww and misc. lead scrap for less than a quarter a pound.

I'd trade for that if I was closer. Put it up for trade anyway, if nobody bites melt it.
