I just put in my first session with a new mold Dan cut for me to use in the .450 Bushmaster. I designed it on his website software and I got want I ordered.

Both cavities drop exactly the same weight at 285 grains, and both cavities drop bullets round to 3 places! .454 across the mold lines and .454 at 90 deg to the mold lines. This may be the most accurately cut mold I own, and what a pleasure to cast with.

It's rare these days to get exactly what you were hoping for when you buy something.

Way to go Dan!

I wanna see pictures! I am thinking about doing this also, so let us know how it shoots.

Thanks,

I have 6 of Dan's molds. Every one is spot on. If the designer (user) does the homework.... the rest seems to just fall in place. The smallest, most consistent groups I have ever shot with original Win 95, original Win 76, original Sharps, Shiloh Sharps, C Sharps and Rem RB have been using bullets cast with MM molds. Hope your results are good.

What was the turn around time on that order?

The turn around time was about 4 weeks. His website said 8 weeks. It may have something to do with how similar what you've ordered is to what he's cutting at the time. Being able to design what you want from his website software is huge IMHO.

I'll wait until I see how this shoots before I post pics. No reflection on Dan, It's the design I gave him.

I can't say enough good about Mountain Molds. I have had turn around time in less than ten days! Everything to spec. If it doesn't shoot, it is your fault, garbage in, garbage out. Work with established cast boolit principles, and Dan will cut you a great mold.

Who wants to wait 6-12 months for a custom mold? I'm tighter than a bull's butt in fly time, but will spend the extra money for quality and service.

+1 to Ric's commentary on Mountain Molds. I have 4 of Dan's tools, and all are spot-on dimensionally and are pure pleasure to use.

His website don't work for me.

I can design a boolit, but can't put it in the shoping cart!

He's made 2 moulds for me. Brass 2cav 9.3mm 200gr and Alum 1 cav .360WFNGC 180gr. Great moulds.
