I have installed a Kirst .45 LC conversion cylinder in my Pietta .44 1858 Remington and am looking for Trail Boss loads for a 255 grain soft cast boolit? Any info would be appreciated.

IMR Site data:

250 GR. CAST LRNFP IMR Trail Boss 4.5 gns @ 606 ft/sec 8800 psi
5.8 gns @ 727 ft/sec 12700 psi

OAL 1.600"

The 4.5 grains of TB is what the IMR Site states and is what I load mine with, but not sure about the 5.8 they list if the Remmie would be safe with that. I know 35 grains of 2F BP in the .45 LC for same boolit seems over twice as powerful as the 4.5 of TB.

Cruising the web, there are a few guys out there making outrageous claims about how hot they load the conversions. Methinks they are going to have the medicos plucking some assorted pieces of Pietta scrap iron out of their ****'s if they keep it up.
