I've got a mold and don't know what guns it fuels.

Might be one of those "got a mold and need a gun to fit it" deals.

I do not know what it is called, however JeffNZ had one.
I believe it is .44 Rook.

I remember Mr. Venterino did an article that had some heeled boolits used in it. I'll have to look for it.

Looks to me like it's for the old and long gone .44Colt. Does it have a hollow base?

Maybe not, .44Colt should be bigger than .429...

I'll have to measure the mold. Maybe the base is what's .429"

I believe the .44 Colt was a heeled bullet and chambered in the 1872 Open Top Colt. Also, the .44 American chambered in the S&W No. 3 was a heeled bullet as well.

Cartridges of the World lists 429185 as the bullet for the .44 Colt.

.44 Colt, .44 American. It was the Russians that taught S&W to make the boolit and bore the same as the inside of the cartridge rather than the outside.

lymans book list it as 44 colt OM. 220 gr special list.$ 5.50 blocks. handles $ 1.50
lyman book 34, 1944 pg 89 on bottom second from right.
