Other similar models are the SSP-91 and the MRI Lone Eagle. Design has been around for 30 yrs or so,, some folks are happy with the type.

Mine is in 357 Max. so would it be a correct to assume that 38 special and 357 magnum can be shot in it.... As long as I clean it after shooting 38's and 357 mags
prior to shooting the 357 max? Jeff

yep, that design is the same as a cannon breech, they made em in 308, 30-06 and even the 300 Mags. I dont think a 38 or 357 is gonna touch it.

I had a Competitor Rotary breech in 6.5 x55 Swede back in the mid 1990's. Gun scared me. Even though the rotary breech closed far enough to let the saftey interlock work, it never seemed to close fully or in in the same position every time it was closed.

Firing pin strike on the primers was always in a different position. I would close the breech as tight as I could get it with my hand, but could still move a little more with two hands. This was with factory ammo. Never got around to reloading for it.

They are clever design and if they had some leverage on breech closing I would still have the gun. Everything else about the gun was great; trigger pull, extraction and ejection.

The Competitor cocked on opening. The Lone Eagle and Ordnance Tech guns have a separate has a cocking lever, that had to be operated independent of the rotary breech. I had shot a Lone Eagle .223 before buying my Competitor. I bought the Competitor over the Lone eagle just because of the cocking lever.

I have 2 Ordanance Tech handguns and several Magnum Research Lone Eagles and one Competitor. The Competitor has simular looks but all else is different. The Lone Eagle in an updated version of the Ordanance Tech.
I find them to be suprisingly accurate, the trigger takes practice to master. The trigger is not an issue with the Competitor.

Make sure you full legnth size the case when reloading and completely close the breech when firing.

I don't mean to hijack the thread but didn't someone make drop-in barrels to convert a 1911 frame to single-shot rifle?

one was called a pachmayr dominator ( I only saw it in handgun configuration), it could be had in many chamberings.

Now there is on that converts to a carbine that is currently available.

Well got to shoot my 357max last week end for the first time , shooting 3 to 4 inch groups at 50 yards . I thought it shot quite well it only has a 2x scope on it.
