do i need a special crimp die to reload slugs?

It depends on the data you use and the slug design. Some use a roll crimp that requires a roll crimp die, and some are loaded with a fold crimp. If you have the Lyman shotshell manual, it will tell you which crimp you use. The Lee slugs are usually used in a fold crimped shell.

+1 on crowbeaners post. If you decide to go with a slug that requires a roll crimp BPI makes a good one I use mine in a drill press or you can usually find the hand cranks on e-bay. The lee shoots a lot better out of rifled barrells. FB

thanks guys. I have an old Lyman easy shotshell reloader and was thinking about trying to reload slugs on it. Just didnt know if it would work or not. been thinking about getting back into shotgun reloading again.

for people like me that never reloaded shotgun its a pita to get everything together.I have 3 presses,mec 600 jr 12 ga. a lee 20 gage and a pacific 12 ga and a lee mold a lyman mold and a lyman 410 mold.[no 410 press.]:coffee:[smilie=1:
