Just had to gloat a little, just ordered a new limited 1885 in 32-40. Davidson's has 69 of these left now. :-D

What a coincidence, I recently ordered a custom special sporting M1885 in .32-40, 28" full octagon. I plan on using a Hoch .322-200 and IMR 4227. Scope or iron? I plan on using a Soule tang and globe with spirit level. We could trade progress reports. What's Davidson's? Is this a Win or Browning? talbotl1@cox.net

This would be the Winchester. Google Davidsons fire arms and then you can use the gun genie.Im looking at the 170gr flat base from Magma engineering.

I like my 1885 45-70 sporter from Davidson's,It's putting Rcbs 300GC's into a ragged hole over 49.2 grains Vitt-133.Shoots the Saeco 480PB well also.

Marvin & Cajan please report on your progress. I have one of the Davidson's rifles in 32-40 but have not got to load for it yet. I am down to deciding which mold to try. Have you found anyone that has 32-40 brass or are you reforming 30-30 or 38-55 brass?

The guy that the gun is being shipped to has 150 new Winchester cases he is holding for me. I have been looking at molds also. Maybe the Magma or NEI? I just don't want to get something that cast to small a diameter slug as I like to use soft lead.

Winchester is now making new 32/40 brass. Midway stocks 32/40 brass. This all came about because a few years back they made a John Wayne commerative in 32/40.
