45-70 200g load suggestion?

going to try a 200 grain boolit sized to 460. Would like to use a fast pistol powder for less than 1000ft/s. Have tight group, green dot and 231. I like trail boss for plinking loads but not sure if I can keep velocity down below 1000ft/s and get good ignition with such a small boolit. thanks

I have not shot a boolit of that weight but I have shot hundreds of round ball loads (143gr). I use 5 gr of red dot and push the ball all the way down on top of the powder. In fact I use cases that have split necks for this as it gives me extra use from them. Velocity is around 800 fps and I get good accuracy at 25 yards.

nick, what size of roundballs are you using. I think I tried some which were just a little loose.
