A good freinds dad had a stroke and lost most of the use of his right arm
So he is passing along to family and freinds most of his guns, ammo and reloading equipment

So I got a bunch of reloads in cal. I have and some reloading stuff

All his ammo boxs are labled

All but 1 are right out of a book

But his plinking 454 load sounds right
But I can not find anything close in any of my books and I don't realy feel like pulling down 300+ rounds

He has this load in Hornady 454 cases (I pulled 3 to check )
Rem 7 1/2 primer
250 gr cast Boolit
10 gr of Unique

He dosn't have a velosity listed
But his 50 yard targets look great , as I got his load books with all the targets from test groups

Is this a safe load ?
Any idea what velosity these loads should do ?

Thanks
John

It's actually a very light load for a 454. You should be getting about 1050fps. I usually load 12.0 with a LEE 255 for 1200fps. This is out of my FA w/ 7.5"Bbl.

Looks like I will just shoot them out of my Ruger SRH

Yes, I use that recipe in a Ruger Blackhawk .45 Colt. It's a good stout load in the BH, but a ***** cat in a .454.
