Anyone shoot lead from these? I just appropriated one in a trade and thinking of loading some up for it.

I shoot a lot of lead in my 92. I use the RCBS 09-124-CN mold and accurate #5. They shoot great in mine. Bill

I bought a 90-two in 40 S&W a few months back and only shoot lead in it. It does really well.

I also have a Taurus 99 in 9mm and it very accurate with lead bullets.

To read the comments, they have a reputation for having larger than .356 groove size.

I have not shot enough cast bullets through mine to have an opinion yet.

I'm shooting a water dropped Lee 358-125RF in my 92, very accurate with a dose of AA7.

Slug that joker! I had one and it shot for crap and I unloaded at a gunshow. I should have slugged first though.

Mine works fine with .357 diam boolits and all the std loads. My load of 6.8 of SP8 is
pretty useless for most folks since nobody even know what SP8 is, let alone
has any.

I haven't had any trouble with boolits in mine. I've gotten the best accuracy with the "Slippery Nine" Group Buy boolits.

I carry a M-92 Centurian with a crimson trace grip. I cast both 120 gr. Lyman styles, RN and TC out of 50/50 ww and Pb. I don`t have my charge records here but I use an adequate load of Accurate #5 and Winch primer. No leading with my homemade lubes and more acccurate than my eyes are anymore - hence the laser sight. It is the DA model only, which I prefer (heavier trigger pull to discharge) with a bobbed hammer. I only load 12 + 1 clip and chamber, can`t see 15 + 1 for weight. If 13 rnds. is enough at least I`ll have a club! :castmine: Robert

Shot some Lee 120gr TC (single lube groove) boolits through my dad's SS mdl 92 Beretta the other day. Best load was 5.0gr SR4756. Couldn't cycle the action at 4.0 to 4.6grs, didn't try 4.8grs, tried up to 5.4grs. Got worse accuracy with 5.2 & 5.4gr. SR4756 wasn't my first choice, just trying to use up some I've got left - cut down on the different powders.

It was much less accurate than the old Win 452AA loads I used to load for my Glock 17.

Lee 358-125s are good for me. Have to seat them a little deeper.

I had a Beretta 96G thats primary diet was cast boolits. I wasn't casting at the time, but I was reloading with commercial cast, mostly D&J's. After a few trial and error load recipes I got one that not only shot well, but didn't lead the barrel.

I've shot a taurus 92 for years with almost all cast with decent results. Had good luck with ww-231 and 124 grain TCs.

I have only ever shot cast in mine. All commercial cast 125Gn conicals. Gobbles em up, good groups off the bench, but I'm blowed if I can shoot this one freehand to anywhere near the same level of accuracy. I'll have to dust it off ans start again.

My experience has been with several 9mm pistols, but only one Beretta. I have fired thousands of cast WW bullets through it that were sized around .358 or slightly larger. If your gun will chamber the large bullets okay, they are worth trying. The Beretta is a long way from a target gun, but mine shoots with reasonable 25 yard accuracy after years of experimenting. I've used many bullets/weights and the single best may be the 125-grain round nose cast from a Lee mould with the bullet seated out to max. OAL. I have had good luck with Win. 231 powder, but others are certainly worth trying. There was a 9mm cast bullet piece published in HANDLOADER #255 last year that may be of some help. While not exactly a Ken Waters "Pet Loads"-type article, it contains a good deal of load data.

I had a stainless 92FS that I could never get to shoot cast the way I liked. I wound up selling it at a gun show and found a great deal on a Kahr which shoots much better.
