Are the micro band design molds specific to Lee only, or are there other manufactures? I like the fact that you can size and lube on the cheap. I got a Ranch Dog mold and really like it. Too bad he is giving up.

I believe that Lee is the only one producing those, but you can size and lube standard designs with the same system and equipment.

Don't overlook the fact that TL boolits work even better with Felix or one of Lar's lubes on them. Nothing says you need Lee snot.

TL = TUMBLE LUBE

Generally boolits lubed with LLA (Lee Liquid Alox)

I figured it was something that anyone here should have known.

Is is OK to use this method on standard grooved bullets?

Yes. Tumble lubing conventional designs works exceedingly well.

Sure is OK to use on other designs,Lee Mule Snot works OK up to about 1400FPS IMHO.
Liquid ALOX is the same stuff only cheaper in larger bottles. Good luck.

Now here is the problem...All my loads exceed 1,400 fps from lever guns. Even with gas checks the dip lube is only good for 1,400?

Lee does not put a 1400 FPS limit on use of its Liquid ALOX. They recommend it for all bullets both pistol and rifle. Give it a try before you decide it will be a problem.

You might want to review his book. Here's a link to an on-line version:

Also, don't forget the Classics and Stickies on this forum:

Not the answer I was looking for. Anyone have a different (higher) velocity threshhold?

I don't have a problem with the liquid alox. I shoot it in excess of 2400 FPS and at pressures from 40.0K to 60.0K PSI. Bullet fit is what is really important.

i know of other guy's that will give the same response as michael did.
i am not one of them.
i use xlox as an additive for my rifle lube though.

If the loading manuals are to be believed, I'm shooting it at 1900 - 2100 fps in a couple of 35 cals. and getting zero leading, same results in my 30-30........ I like it.

i shoot lee alox at 2500 FPS+ out of my 308 CETME with virtually no leading at all. its am myth that alox lube is for low veolicty only.
