How does this powder compare with H335? Any use it in the .444 marlin? Just came across a couple unopened jugs.

In .223 it's just about the same stuff. Info I have says to load it like it is 2460. I have not used in anything except .223 and .308 with jacketed bullets. It's good in those applications - especially .223.

Muffinman,

I used a lot of 2230-C in a .223. Alliant used to have reloading data on their site, but I don't see it there now. They do publish this:

Information: We do not have specific published load information for the 2230 C powder. It’s a military surplus “Spherical” or “Spherical” powder, which is basically a derivative of the standard AA 2230 and 2460 powders. 2230 C is slightly slower burning than the standard AA 2230 product, which makes it more equivalent to AA2460. You can use any published load information, on any caliber configuration, for the standard AA2460 product AS IS. Since the powder can be used in a wide variety of caliber/configurations (too many to list here).

For additional reloading data: --- Please visit our website www.accuratepowder.com

Reloading Data: We do not publish data use A 2460 data AS IS.

Ok thanks guys, thanks for the A.A. link should have thought to go there first. On the label it says to use 2230 data and the site says 2460. Guessing the website to be the current data as these jugs are several years old at least.

Actually in loading 223/j-word, I find AA2230-c to be slower than AA2460 by examining for pressure signs. It works very well accuracy wise for the midweights though. BvT

Since they said any 2460 data could be used as is, I suspected it might be just a frog hair slower.
