Guys,
I have a replacement foresight for my Remmy 1187.
I have very tentatively tried to unscrew the existing sight with pliers(!)
It feels like its going to snap off:roll:
Whats the trick with getting these off?
Thanks in anticipation,
Tony:drinks:

Regular bead type, target bead, rifle type?

The sight on the gun is the standard bead type and the one I would like to fit is a direct replacement but dayglo green. The replacement sight (a Millet I think) has a threaded shank and I assume the original bead is threaded.
The replacement sight was listed for that gun.
Thanks for looking.

I have done maybe 200 remington bead replacements. All that were not target models (trap or skeet) were pressed and staked in. If the new bead is 3-56 thread cut the round part off of the old bead, dress flat, center punch and drill and tap appropriately. If the new one is 6-48, get a good grip on the old one and twist while pulling out. Hole will tap 6-48 nicely. If it breaks off, just drill #31. I am assuming that this is a vent rib barrel

Thanks for your reply Gunfixer. Looks like I will have to just have a go at it!
