I don't think the wood is correct, but the bore is perfect and there are no extra holes in the receiver. And I wanted a 32-20 for a cast bullet gun. It looks like a mini-50's era Marlin 336 to me.

I know for a fact that the but stock is correct for the '94 carbines, but I am not sure about the fore end. My '94 Marlin does not look like that one on the front but I have seen some of them that were of similar design. You will need to have a Marlin Collector look at it to give you the real scoop. It is a nice looking rifle and most marlins I have ever messed with were good shooters, so this one should be no different. Have fun, and thanks for sharing the photos.

Best wishes from the Boer Ranch,

Joe

I took the rifle to the range today and it is one sweet shooter.

First up was a 100 grian LSWC propelled with 3.5 grains of Green Dot. After a fouling shot, the next 5 formed a nice 2" group. That might not sound like much, but this is with the factory buckhorn rear sight and a pretty short sight radius.

Next up was 10 grains of 4227 pushing a 90 grain Sierra HP. Clearly this load had a lot more zip, and printed a nice group that measured a bit under 2".

The last load tried came from Ken Watter's Pet Loads and consisted of the 85 gr. Hornady HP propelled with 7.0 grains of Blue Bot. It was a spectacular shooting load that printed a nice 1.25" group.

With this level of accuracy, I better start looking for a tang peep sight for the rifle.
