I bought a Lee bullet mold and while I love the bullets it makes I'd like to get a better one.
One of the guide pins fell out after less than 1500 castings (2 bullet mold, cast less than 3000 bullets total).

Im thinking Lyman or RCBS, but Id like some input.

I need it in .358 caliber and want between 148-158 grain and I absolutely want round nose, not a wadcutter or semi wadcutter.

thanks for any suggestions :)

Lyman 358311 is a 158 RNFB and a very good boolit.

Ditto on the 358311.

You may want to look for older (old box) RCBS 35 cal molds. Everyone I have ever found has cast and shot well, and the workmanship is first class.

Just curious, why no semi-wadcutters?

No valid reason. Just a personal preference thing :)

Honeslty the main reason is that I was looking at the 'ballistic coefficient' on the bullet options and the round nose ones that we make with the Lee mold was the highest.
Im assuming that means that it has less drag/friction on the bullet as it passes through the air meaning a bit better range.
I could be wrong though

The Lyman -311 is the standard .38 Special RN boolit...
