I have one in 7mm Rem mag. Only problem is when I get in too much of a hurry to load a second round.
Disappointing when you drop the hammer on your Chap-Stik...

I have the same rifle in 25/06 and am very happy with it. It is a shooter for shore. A lil heavy for my style of hunting (on foot walking many miles over steep terrain) so it don't go, but it is a very accurate rifle none the less. Dennis

That's not the trigger's name, it's a warning, "You can jar it anit'll go off"

I was actively buying B78's, in the early 70's, when they were current issue (owning three of them) - and AFAIK, Browning never offered the Can-Jar or any other trigger option for them.

The issue trigger is, however, somewhat adjustable.

I shot the Browning 78 yesterday groups where great at 100 yards.
I belive what you say about the canjar trigger closed the action and it went off...
good thing I was in the rest pointed at the back stop.... Is there any way to adjust the canjar triggers so they are not so sensitive????:holysheep

There is a vertical screw head, just ahead and above the face of the trigger, in the body of the trigger mechanism.
Turn it "in", or to the right/clockwise, to make the trigger pull heavier.

Nice group. Pretty cool when you can fire the rifle, then look up and watch the bullet hit the target. :-D Shooting steel is a hoot too.

I had one in 6mm. The only complaint I had was the factory trigger,so your's sounds good to go.

I purchased a Browning 78 in 30-06 many yeard ago. I have only used it with cast gas checked bullets at ca 1200 to 1400 fps. A real accurate rifle with lead bullets.
