Well I have the hankering for a new toy and am leaning towards a black & stainless T/C Fire Storm. These are available in both flintlock and percussion flavors and I was wondering if anybody has experience with either model such as how they shoot etc.

I had one and wasn't too impressed with it. I have been a long time fan of contenders and encores. The quality of the rifle that I got wasn't in the same neighborhood. I bought a t/c peep sight for it and found that the receiver holes and front sight was not lined up properly. The rifling in the barrel was not as smooth as I would have expected either. BUT, it was cheap and I could still hit a hog at 50 yds...

Well I have had real good service with mine it's a percussion uses 209 shot gun primer or in my case remmington #57 ( Ihave 2000 of them left over from years ago) I only shoot RB in mine an it will sure kill hogs

That's the way my luck runs. If it wasn't bad, I wouldn't have any at all...

I probably got the only lemon in the bunch.

I have the polymer stocked, stainless steel, externally ignited, caseless ammunition 50 Caliber assault rifle version.

Aside from a somewhat soft frizzen and overly strong frizzen spring, it's a neat gun to shoot... and I've shot up to 500gr bullets in it.

My "normal" load is a 350gr Lee Improved Minnie over 80gr 3F, though I'm working up a 250gr REAL load that should be good too...

I wasn't happy with the trigger on mine , very heavy. Not hard to change just needed to hone some edges. I'm shooting a 320 gr. REAL boolit over 100 grains of loose black. 2" at 75 yds.

Several years ago, I lucked into a blued/walnut T/C Custom Shop .50 cal version, that had a Weatherby-type high-polish blue and a XXX walnut stock for cheap money.

It had a pretty good trigger, and T/C's decent FO open sights.

I upgraded it to 209 ignition, and shot it with Ox-Yoke Bore Butter, Knight RedHot sabots and 100gr of Pyro pells, after I threw a 2x scope on it.

It regularly shot 1 1/2" 100yd groups - but I soon swapped it for a .50 Omega with a QD breechplug, which was MUCH easier to clean !
